Picked up an effects pedal, a JHS Charlie Brown. I think it is broken because if I click it off I get no sound at all, pretty sure it should switch between distortion and clear but it just shuts off. Unless I have it wired backwards which is probably the case. Ugh

I was thinking about buying a 1986 Ovation Celebrity acoustic electric. Listed at $249 but I can talk the guy down a little. I played it for a few minutes and it sounded OK. Does anybody have an Ovation and what do you think about it. I saw where an 86 was sold online for $505 and another one is on eBay of $799.

Read some reviews. Some people like them and some don't. The rounded back wouldn't bother me like it seems to for some people. Some said it only sounds good when plugged in. I only played it unplugged i the store for a few minutes so I don't really know. My brother said he doesn't like the sound for bluegrass but I don't play bluegrass.

I'll either buy it or order a Yamaha 335 for $200. Comes with a free 2 year ware.

Got good reviews but there aren't very many reviews. Are Yamaha's made in China now?

I'm not sure, I remember hearing some not so good stuff about them. If you are looking for an acoustic check Craigslist for a seagull. Should find some in the $200-$300 range and well worth it. Solid wood North American made and great sound. Closest you will get to a Martin or Taylor at a fraction of the cost.
