He's the all-time NCAA leader in passing yards. Also, didn't Babe Ruth also set the record for most career strikeouts while setting it for home runs?
But who cares about that when you throw more interception than anyone else in the country on the way there? That doesn't help your team win. I think so. But a single batter for a team & a QB are pretty different situations. Throwing an interception & striking out hurt your team in drastically different ways. You strike out - who cares? Lots of batters do. It doesn't even affect the final score half the time. You throw an interception - you lose a chance to score & give the other team a chance to score, and it often plays a big role in who wins the game.
But the point is, if you throw the ball nearly every down, chances are you're going to throw a lot more interceptions than average. I'd be willing to be something similar could be said for interceptions. One team getting a turn over doesn't guarantee them any points. That's why it's a team game. Of course, I'm not saying that interceptions are acceptable. In fact, I don't even know how what I'm saying relates to the conversation. I just wanted to point out that those who set the glamorous records frequently set notorious ones, as well.
No they aren't! A strikeout is hindering your team the same way as an intereception! But you defense has a chance to get the ball back from an interception, there is no way from gettin a strikeout back! By the way Timmy Chang is one of the best QB's in NCAA history! When you throw the ball that much of course it's going to get picked! I cannot believe yo don't think Timmy Chang is Good! HES BEYOND GOOD! And by the way he helped his ****ty ass team win many games where no one thought he could win. HE MADE IT TO BOWL GAMES! For Hawaii that is a HUGE accomplishment! You either don't pay attention to any other school other than LSU or you just plain don't know football!
This quote is Perfectly FIT! The backup qb always tries to bail the starter out of a bad game! Your starter will not ALWAYS be perfect! The fans will always bag on someone and chances are that it will be the starting qb unless hes perfect!
Shame shame Chaos, you know better than to let the facts get in the way of a good argument.:dis: :dis: :hihi: :hihi:
Now, I have to say, there is no way in hell that I think Timmy Chang is the best QB in NCAA history. He was merely the product of a system. Hell, look at those goofballs from Texas Tech. Doesn't matter what guy they plug into the system, he's going to average 400+ yards/game. And he'll also throw it about 60 times/game. But you never hear about them once they get drafted. Hell, the Saints have one that is third on their depth chart, if that tells you anything.
Like we always gave Rohan Davey and Matt Mauck a hard time? Once a QB earns the respect of the fans I really think the majority of us give him the benefit of the doubt. Similar to the way fans react to coaches, or the way people behave in general in any setting. Russell hasn't won my confidence yet, and the jury is still out on Miles. I feel pretty good about Matt Flynn, but he's only started one game.
