We don't know the details about that either. Maybe Benton saw the writing on the wall and figured he would have to have a second option. I doubt the issue of playing time came up at the last minute and maybe it was something brewing between the two for some time now. Truth is we may never know the details. Miles may have faced a no win situation from a PR standpoint but this didn't come off very well. Fitting that Guilbeau would stir the pot but it had to be done.
We are fans of LSU. Screw the other schools. Sh!t happens. Also, we don't yet know what really went down. I did hear that we are cool with Coach Bradshaw.
dont reason it out when its on us. you're right its bullshiit. huh? was i supposed to? after my first 10 I got bored.
I don't know what happened, but I know how it looks, and it isn't good. What's worse is I see a tremendous amount of justification in this thread, from many people I would not have expected. I want to believe the best of Miles in this situation, but if he pulled Benton's offer last night or this morning, it is just plain wrong, and it tarnishes the image I have of Miles and his character. All other considerations, such as Benton's previous tries to make it to campus, randle will be here longer, etc, etc. That's all bs, and an attempt to make yourselves feel better.
The fact of the matter is that no one here really knows the whole story. Everything isn't always black and white. There may have been some negotiating between the LSU staff and Randle and Benton. Benton is the one that took a last minute visit to Auburn. Who knows why. The fact is that Auburn is probably better for him and his situation considering his academic issues and probability to turn pro quickly along with Auburn's depth chart. Of course I don't like what appears to be the simple version which is that Miles yanked his scholly to gain a more desirable recruit. But I think Benton's Auburn visit a few weeks ago makes the issue a little more complicated.
