Are child molesters born wanting to sleep with children? Are serial killers born wanting to kill people?
Excuse my harshness, but that is such an idiotic comparison. Do homo's (non-molesting) harm anyone with their actions? No. Don't give me this 'Oh they harm the moral fabric of society' crap. Do their actions have any direct victims? No.
I see what you mean homer. Sexual perversion is sexual perversion. If a person is considered born gay then a person must also be born a pedophile. People must also be born wanting to have sex with animals. Liberals usually won't argue this point with you. They'll just call you stupid and move on. Even though, on the basic level of their theory, it makes sense.
If someone is born a pedophile maybe we should accept them for who they are, after all they can't help it.:dis:
Also, it is interesting that God instructed Moses against all three of these things in the same conversation.
really, i didnt know anyone disputed that some people were to some extent born pedophiles or whatever other perversion. no kidding. i suppose some people have their sanity broken by abuse or whatever and go nuts and want to do all sorts of wild and vile things, but there are others who just sort of always were screwy. you guys are having a nature/nurture debate, and i think that we all can agree that there are aspects of both and propensities and things that sort of make things the way they are. so some kids may have a propensity towards some sort of behavior, which is exacerbated by the way they are raised, and some rare kids may just be so inherently the way they are that no type of parenting could change them. so the answer to the nature/nurture question is almost always both, to some extent. this is why twin studies are fascinating, you can isolate diffences in people that are attributable to nurture. in my case, my twin brother is black, and two years older than me. weird huh.
Just like conservatives will dodge the question when you ask them if homosexuality harms anyone...still waiting on that one. homer, I know you asked a simple question. But I'm not naive enough to think you weren't going to try and draw some ridiculous comparison between homosexuality and murderers, child molesters, etc. Some people are born clinically insane, or with severe disorders that are conducive to heinous crimes. However, that is not always the case. Harmful acts towards another person are usually done out of some sort of volition, with an awareness of possible consequences. Now, I want someone to tell me, what are the direct consequences of one dude doin' another dude? Are there any involuntary victims in that circumstance? Is anyones life worse off when the act is done?
well, i am pretty sure baby jesus isnt psyched. a victimless crime is just that. a crime (without victims).
