I was in the Student Section and remember how we all thought the scoreboard was going to fall. You could barely see the players as it was raining. When the rain finally stopped, it was like "what happened and how did they score 44 points in that storm?
I was there. I remember being incredibly pumped (and drunk) before the game and yelling "put the pain to the caines". My recollection is they scored on their first possession, kicked off, we fumbled on the first or second play from scrimmage , they recovered and the rout was on. My only experience in TS that was worse -- Miami of Ohio.
I was also at the Miami of Ohio game - what was so really bad about that one was that I took a client of mine who was a Miami alum to show him "big time football". He was actually magnanimous about the whole thing, said he enjoyed the experience (naturally) - he had been to a number of Big 10 games and said the tailgating experience at TS was so much better. Still, that was the most embarassing experience I ever suffered at TS.
I was a freshman and there with a buddy and our dates. Midway throught he first quater the rain and quality of play drove us to leave. We went and got more Jack and got a room at the budgetel (I think) on Seigen at I-10. :hihi: Good times. . .
What year was the Florida State game in TS? There was also a monsoon siting in Tiger Stadium that game....
I was there. My Dad and I sat in the Northeast corner of the stadium. We finally left in the middle of the fourth quarter.
I was. Game started off warm. Had on jeans and t-shirt. Rained like a mutha-f'er and then got freezing cold. I was sopping wet and then freezing. Bad night.
Those of you that went to the Miami of Ohio game, did any of yall really know who Ben Roethlisberger was when we played them in 2002? I told a friend of mine at the game that he was gonna be the next great QB in the NFL. That was an OK prediction of mine. He hasn't done a whole lot just yet, but he has the potential to do a lot of big things in the NFL.
me - a jr at LSU standing in the student section in that miserable weather. I think that was the year that miami lost a thriller to ND which basically determined the NC.
