Yes, it's the same play. 2nd Qtr 1:05 minute mark if you want to check. I just went back and watched the play on ESPN3. The Left tackle looks like he was definitely pulling, I don't know if that caused Lonergan to miss snap or what, but it definitely sack tapped Lonergan. Lee never touched the ball on that play. He made a motion but I think it was more out of habit and he stopped as soon as he realized the ball wasn't in his hands. Feel bad for Lonergan though. He had 2 mistakes in the game and a nut shot.
wowzers thanks for the info, I had no idea what the hell was bugging Lonergan, but it makes sense now that he wanted to come back into the game, he just had to regain all of his faculties
Yeah I watched the game over and a grade of C- might even be a little lenient. It's easy to get caught up in all the hoopla of such a big win, but the QB play was simply not very good. But considering our discussion on timing and young receivers getting broken in, it isn't entirely on his back. I do see us getting better in the passing game. We have too many weapons on the edge as well as a terrific TE that should be extremely hard for any LB or safety to cover. We tried to throw to our backs, but the execution was pretty poor. That needs to be a weapon too, getting Ford out into space and letting him speed down the sideline. His problem remains throwing off his back foot or at the very least does not step into the throws. His footwork is still very sketchy. I know Krag has been working with out QBs, but this may be something Lee can't get past. It appears his habits may be so entrenched that in the heat of battle and under potential duress, he resorts back to poor technique.
Robert Smith of ESPN continues to hate. Gives LSU a "B" for handily beating the #3 team in the country because "they needed the turnovers to win." :dis:
3 of our TD drives started from the 21, 40 and 40 yard lines. Two of those set up by turnovers and the other on downs. Another TD was scored by our special teams. We had one long drive of about 70-75 yards just before the end of the first half. That was the only long sustained drive of the night. I hate Robert Smith. But he isn't totally off base with the fact that yes our offense sputtered a lot and we needed the short fields. But where he fails is the fact that our defense and special teams should be given credit for forcing those turnovers. I don't remember one time where the Oregon player just laid the ball on the turf and screamed for us to come and pick it up. I don't recall hearing a talking head ever describing a convincing win with a dominating performance by a defense in that manner. He's a douche.
