Agree 1000%. I always thought pocket presence was mostly instinct and couldn't be taught, but there's no doubt he's greatly improved since last year. Maybe it's because he's more experienced and has a year of facing SEC defenses under his belt.

I'd give the DL a B. They could improve, but they were not embarrassed.

Well a D or F grade would signify being embarrassed. A grade of C means they could improve a bit. I would have a hard time saying the D-line played well, which is what I think of a B grade.

They looked very average to me, which is a C. I'm with islstl on this.

OL shouldn't be a B+. Mett was sacked three times and saved himself multiple times from going down. They were super inconsistent in run blocking. It's a bad night when the best block was done by a WR on the edge. Biggest thing I think is that they are all at new positions so its going to take a few games to get a feel for where they're at. I'd say a C-.

Mett looked almost like a new man last night to me. He looked much more confident and poised in the pocket and many of his incompletions were catchable balls. He still looks like a three legged giraffe when he is flushed, but that is never going to change. Also seemed more aware of the pressure in the pocket. Alot of sacks were from blitzers that should have gotten picked up by the backs. That said, the OL did a pretty darn good job last night.

I really think he is going to be the key to our success this season. If he continues to improve on what we saw tonight, I see Cam opening up the passing game even more. Running game may just be the icing on the cake. I am definately ready to see some more of this offense in action.

I thought the defense held up well against a very dynamic offense. (I'll be interested to see how TCU does the rest of the season.)

Alot of typical first game mistakes, but overall I thought we looked as good or better as any of our other SEC brethren did this weekend.

A couple of those were on the running back, who was supposed to pick up the blitz.
