Alabama 25-0. That punk bitch Bo Wallace has a 101 QB Rating (200 is considered elite), throwing for only 5.3 yards per attempt. 209 yards of total offense. What a loser. I had Bama winning by 24.
Yards and points dont account for everything. LSU wasnt able to establish the run. The OL wasnt able to sustain their blocks, there were no holes. The blocking was better in the second half but still, not enough. Add to that the sacks. As a whole the pass blocking was solid but the lack of a run game really hurt us.
Valid point, but we came into the game averaging nearly 200+ yards rushing and only had 77 yards on 36 carries. Just think if we had both phases of our attack working the entire game. Also gave up a huge sack at the end of the game when trying to drive for tying FG. Agree. Had we been able to run better, specifically in the first half, we might have stolen a possession or two from UGA. Offense needs to protect the D this year.
You give the O-line a grade of D? Seriously? I think if anyone before the game told you I'll give you 41 points and you take your chances on winning, you would run with it to the nearest bank for deposit. That's like saying the D-line gets a grade of D in a game in which we lost 9-6, because they couldn't put quite enough pressure on the QB on that last drive that ended in the game winning FG by our opponent. That would sound equally idiotic. Hell I deducted an entire grade against the O-line (from an A- to a B-) just because of that last drive and how it ended so poorly and with such a whimper. I thought maybe I was being a bit harsh. You guys are brutal.
Only at LSU, you throw for 372 yds and 3 TD's like you said 41 pts. When was the last time we threw for 372 yds in a game? Looking for that 3 WR, not wanting us to run the ball......too many to answer. LSU is the team that was picked to finish third in the West right?
I credit most of that to our A+ quarterback. The run blocking was very poor and, although they pass blocked much better, that's a lot of sacks to give up. How about a C-minus minus.
NO. Mett on about 75 % of his dropbacks had absolutely no rush, great protection (41 dropbacks, 31 times great protection, 4 sacks, 7 other pressures). I think that's about right. Run blocking was good in the 2nd half. So even run blocking would get a C-. We were playing on the road against the #9 team in the nation. We've come a long way when 41 points on the road against an SEC opponent yields a poor grade for the offensive line. I guess we should be happy about that.
Regarding the run blocking in the first half, I think Georgia was selling out to stop the run. And we were making them pay on the first two drives with the pass. Then we decided to have our stubborness to run the ball stop a couple of drives in the 2nd quarter. Note to OC, always take what the defense gives you. I still remember that one play on short yardage and we ran a play that had no chance at succeeding, just from watching what the defense was doing pre-snap. We never audibled out of a run off left tackle, probably because Mett isn't given that much luxury. We still ran it on an overloaded left side of the line (2 blockers, 4 defenders), and lost 2 yards. I understand being balanced. I also understand audibling out of a play that won't work.
