Agreed re the coaching, I suppose that's where it averages out to a C. Re the defense, on one hand it's a youth/talent issue, on the other, coaching. It doesn't make sense to me that if something isn't working, try something different to change it up. Just imagine how bad this could have been today if we don't have an offense.

QB- A - Mett was everything he was hyped to be and then some.

WR- A - Landry has the best hands weve seen at LSU. He makes a highlight catch every game.

RB- C - In large part because of the OL not making holes and the coaches continually trying to run down the middle. In the second half there were more holes but still, not enough. Overall a C but I dont put in on the backs.

TE- F - Non existent and Dickson dropped a huge pass. Would have been a great catch but still.

OL- D- Pretty good pass blocking but pathetic run blocking. Once again too many false starts.

DL- D - Not enough push without a blitz. No real studs this year. Freak and Ego are damn good but they arent a Dorsey, Lavalais, or Williams.

LBs- D- Once again poor angles and too many broken tackles. Alexander had some nice plays but still an overall weak performance.

DB- F - Way too many big pass plays. We dont have another Webster, Peterson, Mathieu Claiborne, Landry, Steltz, Taylor, or Reid. No play makers. No cover guys. Far too much miscommunication.

Special Teams- C - Solid job but the muffed punt by OBJ was a killer.

Coaching- F - The play was better in the second half. Once again though too many costly penalties as a whole. Piss poor time management, as well at TO issues. Once again the pathetic defensive play calling at the end of a game beats LSU. Those soft Ds just give you yards. UGA always appeared one step ahead of LSU.

Im very proud of the way the team fought. They have so much fight, heart, and resolve.

I'm curiously calm after this loss which is very unusual. I guess it's because I now realize that this defense just isn't good enough to win the west much less the SEC or National championship. Chavis doesn't help matters with his insistence on playing that soft zone late in games. Ultimately, I don't think it would have mattered tonight though. This secondary has no playmakers and looks lost most of the time... I hope they grow up soon.

It will still be fun to watch this season because of Mett and Landry. They may end up being two of the best we have ever seen at LSU.

Exactly how I felt when I saw the ball fall incomplete on 4th down. I was disappointed, but not upset.

It's awesome to win a game like this, but ultimately a win like that would not have been the springboard to have our defense play any better.

Agree with you about how fun it is to watch the offense. Like watching an NFL game, to be honest. Mett, Beckham and Landry are going to be playing on Sundays. I am very proud of the offense. Felt good to watch that offensive display today. Too bad the O-line fell apart.

I was gonna ask the same thing. He gave F's across the board for the individual units.

Because a ton of it falls on the players. If the DL sucks, the LBs suck and the DBs suck what can a coaching staff do? I agree the coaching staff needs to get them ready, but these guys are obviously clueless and need to play much better no matter how young and inexperienced they are.

Chavis utterly failed in his game plan.

There is no other way to look at it.

    Agreed.

I felt the same way after the Bama loss last year too.

But Stud has failed in my opinion on the O-line as well. That is his ONLY job now this year and the 4 sacks against that defense is just as inexcusable in my opinion.
