Yes, I'd agree the tackles have been quiet. Not quite the disruptive force you would like, but they have eaten blocks and shut down the run allowing the ends to rush. Also Harris made some big plays after scrambling away from the rush, he's pretty fast and elusive.
Misdirection, counters, and screens are the best way to beat an over agressive defense. I know we can't execute a screen to save our lives, but we have been pretty good at the other 2. Hopefully saving some for Nov. 7
Exactly. We have never had the kill shot mentality since Les has arrived. We tend to stab our opponent and then apply a tourniquet.
It's funny that McElwain is trying to say that LSU had to resort to trickery to beat them when LSU gifted them 14 points.
Our tackles have played the run very well, but none of them are going to be like a Kyle Williams or Dorsey and get a lot of sacks. I definitely would like to see more of a push up the middle on drop backs. Can you believe that Williams had around 19 sacks while at LSU? That's a boatload for a tackle.
