I don't expect Bama fans to enjoy the "chest thumping". But when you say something to the effect of "I wouldn't do considering recent history of the 2 schools", I disagree. It's the recent history that enables us to talk the chit. It ain't braggin' if you can back it up. Well, we've backed it up with the best of 'em since the turn of the century.
LOL!!! I worked with a lady that something similar. She would say "It's all fun and games until someone get's their eye poked out."
If you think we're that bad then I guess it is. But you would be the one in the position to answer that. Do you believe a loss to bama would be that disgraceful?
No. That is why your point about Les's words coming back to bit him November seemed misplaced and feeble. I was making fun of you counting on a Nov win over us making up for the loss to ULM. Clear?
That comment was coming from a coaches standpoint not a fan. Sorry if I used the wrong context. But considering all the media hoopla that occurs everytime one of these coaches says anything about the other, which usually results in a later apology, I would think the topic would be avoided.
I wasn't even using the loss to ULM in the equation of the potential of coming back to bite him. I was coming from the standpoint of him having the audacity (in light of the recent events between these two coaches in the media) to sling a smartazz comment across the river then get beat at home in November. The potential media ribbing would be endless. Especially from any local media that might not like Les. The ULM loss is over and done. There is no "making up" for any past loss. A future win doesn't erase a past loss on the books so why bother thinking like that?
Well...hate to bring up a sour subject....Miles was already on the Alabama side of the river (that is if indeed you were referring to the Mississippi River).
Agreed. And I think Les is safe from any 'media ribbing' no matter what happens this year for pretty much the same reasons.
I think Les is safe from any kind of criticism for at least two years. It is not realistic to expect any coach to not see some sort of drop off after a NC year. But as the SEC is the beast that it is he won't stay on the "cold seat" long. That's just the price you pay for coaching at a school with SEC fans. We're a bit nuts. :insane:
