You know what I wonder. On that Landry touchdown, did ZM purposely throw the ball low and behind Jarvis because the defender was draped on the other side of him, or was it just lucky he threw it there?

Good question but the way Mett had put the ball in the correct spot all night makes me tend to believe he was "throwing the receiver open".

I wanna say I agree because it was over the middle and within 15 yards, which is an elementary pass for a good qb.

    this is my guess

Watch Flacco throw to the back shoulder. Cam taught him that.

It's called "throwing the receiver open".

He had another bad ass back shoulder throw on the game closing drive as well to OBJ. Just a perfect throw. The only reason I asked was because usually you see that on the sideline and if it is over the middle its on a seam route, not a crossing route or slant.

I recall two down the TCU sideline on 1st or 2nd down situations where a play action didn't develop and Mett threw it away rather than taking a sack or doing something else stupid waiting on shit that ain't gonna happen. I recall these plays since the later would have been the way he would have finished them. Those two throws showed me more about his development than all the completions to that point. We saw good passing from him last season. What we didn't see last season was smart decisions when things don't unfold as you planned for them to. The other throw away that I called that everyone might not agree with was the final 3rd down play before the half. Blue could have caught a well thrown ball but probably wouldn't have scored. If that happens the half ends with no field goal on 4th. I think that Mett recognized this and threw an uncatchable ball in front of him.

you're right, I remember those situations now also. Hell, his completion rate was a lot higher than I thought in all reality.

You missed a few block in the back and a ton of holding calls. Jordan Allen had his guy on skates all night, the guy can bull rush.

indeed. Jordan Allen was really impressive. Looked like a damn giant out there. I like him and Hunter on the ends.
