Hell he even said if he died Shireen was to be his heir and sit on the Iron Throne. And the writers decided Stannis would completely betray his dignity and honor and sense of justice because it's cold outside and they only have horsemeat? I mean in the long run I can see Stannis doing this, but i think it was poorly placed and set up in the show.

No, because the red woman told him he must to fulfill his destiny. If Jon had broken his vow and done her, Shireen might still be alive. Blame Jon Snow in a way.

Or if he would have let Mance burn. Why would he need to bang Mel? She isn't aware of his potential kings blood unless she means the Northern Kings of old or Robb.

She wanted Jon to leave the Watch and come to Winterfell. Failing having him available to sacrifice, she convinced Stannis that Shireen would be even better, with royal blood instead of mere noble blood.

Wait so you think she wanted to burn Jon? Stannis needed Jon because he needs a Stark in Winterfell to garner northern support. He would have legitamized him and made him Warden of the North.

That may have been Stannis' plan. I suspect the red witch has another one.

So what arcs will be serviced next week? I expect that both the Arya, 4th book cliffhanger and the Jon Snow, 5th book cliffhanger will happen. Somebody major has to die also. I would like to be neither Melissandre nor Stannis when Sir Davos returns. On the other hand, the third king has yet to die from the burning leech curse. Roose Bolton needs to die. So where do we stand with Ramsey/Sansa and Brienne/Podrick? They have been building something about Dorne, but I don't know what. I don't expect to see much of Danerys this week, but what fate does Tyrion suffer from the Sons of the Harpy? I guess Bran is turning into a tree somewhere.

    Major potential Spoilers below!!!!!

You'll see the Arya arc completed, my guess is she kills Ser Meryn posing as a young hooker then kills the thin man, JaQen Hagar finds out and blinds her.

Jon we know what happens there. The question is, is that how it ends and is that that?

Cersei will have her walk after she confesses and will name Ser Robert Strong the reanimated zombie corpse of Gregor Clegane her champion.

Kevan Lannister and Grand Maester Pycelle.... Yeah add em to the list as Varys makes his return. Remember he needs Cersei close to her son the King so she continues to screw up the realm and Kevan and Pycelle are actually good rulers.

The Sansa/Brienne/Pod thing, I'm thinking she enlists Brienne and Pod to find Bran and Rickon, Davos joins the nights watch or he joins Brienne and Pod, honestly i have no idea how this is going to pan out because it's so different. Stannis will attack Winterfell, maybe Theon helps Sansa escape again I'm not sure. I'm also not sure if the Pink Letter is introduced.

The Dorne thing was a gigantic waste of time other than showing us Tyene's tits and hearing Bronn sing the dornishman's wife.

    Potential Spoilers Below:

I wonder what's going to happen in season 6. They have to start shooting before big boy gets up off his arse and finishes the book, so will they backtrack?

    Missing:
The Greyjoys: this is probably the biggest mystery considering season 2 really deeply involved Asha, Balon, and Aeron, and Asha was in 3 as well. We haven't been introduced to Euron Crow's Eye yet, or Victorian, and shit for that matter Balon hasn't even died yet. Asha is supposed to be a captive of Stannis right now but that hasn't happened either. The Greyjoys really have just been written off it seems, I hope they make it into 6 because they add an interesting element with the Iron Fleet traveling to Mereen arc.

The Manderlys: I really hate these guys were cut out. Loyal to the Starks, they hate the Freys and Boltons but still have to play the game and Roose needs them because they are the most wealthy northern Great House. And White Harbor is strategically located.

The Freys, Edmure Tully and the Blackfish: where the hell did they go? Beats me they just disappeared after the Red Wedding. Some redemption is needed, any good show strikes a balance between loss and victory, this show seems to be focusing mostly on loss. Lady Stoneheart, and the Manderlys really knock off a bunch of Freys, would be nice to see that play out on screen.

Aegon and Connington: it's safe to assume they are done. No complaints here.

Rickon Stark and Bran: it's safe to assume we will see more of Bran at some point, would have been nice to recast Sean Bean for the Weirwood visions Bran has of Lord Eddard. I'm not sure if they will bring up Rickon again unless George has big plans for him.

Honestly I believe the whole reason for the Jamie arc was in case they were lacking for material next season. His arc is completely wide open. He could very well go to the Riverlands next season like he was supposed to do this season and they could still introduce Stoneheart. Just no way of knowing at this point.

Aren't you supposed to be a stoner who can't remember his cat's name? Your retention is impressive. But you are a Silmarillion devotee, of course. Better you than me, brother . . .

For me, it's all down to Bronn, Arya, Brienne, and Tyrion. If this fantastic four doesn't rule the known world, assimilate all factions, terminate the white walkers, unify Esteros and Westeros, and establish a land where cynical, impertinent, cleverly intellectual and exceedingly hip people with style and great big titties engage in decadently wicked, yet remarkably wholesome self-indulgence, . . . then Martin has no fucking imagination.

I probably shouldn't have another shot of Elijah Craig. It makes me judgmental.

I love the Silmarillion, I think it's a work of art and had it been written 2 or 3 thousand years ago we may all be worshiping Iluvatar instead of Jesus.

I like where you are going, you seem to favor the witty characters and underdogs. I think in the end Tyrion, Dany, and Bran will be your dragon riders. I don't see Brienne of Tarth making it through to the end, but I would bet she is the one that kills Stannis. Bronn, he has defied the odds too many times and I think he perishes as well. Arya is probably the most interesting character in the books. She is hell bent on revenge, I hope she gets it.
