both of these places are legit. johnny robs will likely be cheaper although not convenient location-wise. i think they'll come get your car if needed.
Gotta be the solenoid at this point, but as I stated before, I know very little about cars, just my past experience which was identical to what you're describing. In a boat albeit, but with a ford truck engine in it.
I'm actually having the same problem too but mine is a 2003. It started up fine this morning and then when I went to leave work it wouldn't start. When I go to jump it it starts right up without having to sit. I'll eventually bring in to the shop but after spending about $1,100 on it this month in maintenance and fixing the A/C it'll just have to wait.
If it were the battery or alternator then it would have shown up in the diagnostic so rule that out. Not sure how they checked the starter unless thye put it on a lift and i know Advance doesn't have one. The next step is starter/solinoid.
Took it into Gordon and Sandifer on Thursday. They ran their tests and determined starter as well. They've replaced the starter and so far so good, but you never know until it doesn't start...
Had this happen on my 93 ford explorer I used to have, it turned out the wire connecting starter to solinoid was corroded, new connection it was good as new
