It would take a lot less than that.

Del Rio was our guy until Skip got pissed at his agent and terminated negotiations. Is that your mishandling? If so, I agree.

Del Rio is one example. The other is how the conversation opened when Saban went in to give Skip his decision, which if reports from some close to the scene are correct, it was not to resign and explains why his wife was so surprised at his taking the Miami job.

I'm not sure how I feel on many of these points and assertions, but one thing I'm sure about - Mr. Nick Saban is not influenced by a single human being on this planet other than himself. This includes his wife and Skip. To even think that Skip Bertman influenced Nick Saban's decision either way via something he said is utterly absurd.

The Smoke hire without any kind of national search never sat well with me.

The track coach's departure pissed me off.

I still think Brady gets another year, so no problem with Skip staying the course.

I totally agree with you. They are both average caoches at best. All of these myopions keep defending them but LSU will never reach the level we should be at with Smoke and Brady. There is a reason they were coaching at NLU and Samford. Not Miami and UNC. They are average at best and I think they have had enough time. time to move on.:geauxtige

So I guess that must mean that he sent his wife down here just for sh!ts and giggles back in '99, right BB?

I mean, why else would he send his wife down here for a weekend, then meet with LSU officials off-site, and accept the job without ever having toured campus? I'm sure he just wanted to have her get some free drinks and recipes to bring back to East Lansing...She-according to you-carries no sway whatsoever with him...

    You're right.

Damn, I gave you rep points on another thread before reading this one and being reminded of how annoying you are.

Of course his wife is an influence on him and his decisions - sometimes people exaggerate to nail home a point. Deal with it.

Skip did not push Saban out or nudge him towards the door. Some of you act like raving lunatics sometimes...
