That problem will fix itself. He's a smart guy and it won't take him long after getting his clock wound a few times to stop doing that. I just hope he doesn't get hurt in the process..
Shepard looks like a receiver now.. Clair, do you feel more confident about Jefferson after seeing him next to some pretty good QBs? Or about the same?
To me JJ has very weak arm strength, what I mean is it takes his whole wind-up to get the velocity on the ball. Sure, when he has 5 yards around for his larger stance and has plenty of time to throw he puts good velocity on it but that doesn't happen at the college or pro level often. I am sure he can throw the ball 50-60 yards in a throw and catch session, but that doesn't really reflex the true state of things. There are some things he can improve but his overall throwing ability is maxed out IMHO. I am encouraged by what I saw from the spring game as far as crowton. There is plenty of things crowton to do to help both QBs. I expect the offense numbers to go up some but at the end of the day I don't think you will win a SEC championship with JJ but sometimes you have to play with the cards you are dealt.
If throwing ability and arm strength were everything we would have won 2 NCs with Jamarcus. And after watching Tim Tebow's mechanics for 3 years I don't want to hear anybody talk about how you can't be successful with a QB having a big windup. What we need out of Crowton is smart play-calling that won't confuse the hell out of our players and maximizes our talent, and what we need out of JJ is smart decision-making. We get those two things and an SEC championship is in our grasp.
I never once said the team could not be successful, I would say the chance of a QB being successful with a big mechanic goes down drastically. Heck, Aaron Brooks made it in the NFL for a year or two until the DC figured it out. "JJ is smart decision-making" Actually I think the only reason why JJ is even being talked about is he was smart enough to know he couldn't get the ball to the receiver in time and took the sack. He at least knows what most people on this forum have yet to figure out, he doesn't have the ability to get the ball out. IMHO Crowton can certainly improve just about everything he has done. I am more positive after the Spring game in that regard.
Ditto "What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I've ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response was there anything that could even be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul!"
Landry was also out later that night in BR along w/ RS, Ridley, Lael Collins and ab 15 other LSU football players. Must have ridden up w/ RS and Jefferson after the camp.
Almost all of our commits seem to be really close to the current players. I have heard that some come down almost every weekend to hang out like Turner, Landry, Freak, Collins, etc...
