1. We are 4-9 in bowl games.. Yes, the brawl of 2004 (against the other death valley) cost us a trip..

I watched yalls game last night.. I think it was funny that Steltz was Miss State's leading receiver.. 3 catches!!

  2. great game guys. i expected as much, but was actually very surprised in the first quarter and a half, that msu hung tough with you guys. but i knew it was just a matter of time. depth and talent always show through in the second half. i am a sec fanatic, as i'm sure most of you are, and i always pull for sec teams, when they are not playing us. hopefully i can say that i pull for you guys in all but TWO GAMES this season. it will be a very tough task for us to come down to the real "death valley" and come out with a win. i have heard many stories about the hostile environment of baton rouge. i hope we both can stay injury free, and have a great game in late sept. good luck on your season!

this is not meant to be smack talk to the board, but just a little shot at gumborue. be careful about being TOO confident that you will be feasting on gamecock soon, or you might find yourself having to order crow instead.:hihi:
  3. well, good thing for the LSU nation my confidence has nothing to do with how the football team plays.

still, after last nights game you have to be a little more worried. that O was very deliberate and still hung 45.

usc will be much more of a challenge though, so at this early date i predict 44-0.
  4. lol if yall hang 44 on our d and shut us out at the same time I will do something that either involves public nudity or monetary compensation
  5. very true, i can't help being worried about going into any top five teams backyard. i never said that i wasn't worried about playing lsu, or that we would win the game. i just said to underestimate us is a huge mistake!
but the last time we went into a top five teams backyard, and they were thinking about blowing us out as well, was last season when we went to "the swamp" and left with a "one point" loss after a very unlikely three of our kicks getting blocked, and another 55 yard made field goal was called back, after a late phantom motion penalty, that the pro florida announcers even questioned. a 17-16 loss to the eventual national champions, in their home stadium, with a lot less talent than we have this season, should give you more respect than you are showing. so i'll take your unnatural over-confidence as a sign of nervousness.
by all means, lsu should win this game, but i guarantee you it won't be by a score like that!!! you obviously have not paid attention to our team last year, and know very little about us this year. don't get it twisted. we are not miss state!

  6. I watched that game last year and was pulling HARD for SC to win against the gaytors. I hate everything about uf,teboy the most. The LSU/SC matchup will be great viewing. No blowout I'm sure but I still want visor boy to leave with an L.
  7. i'm sure you do want sos to leave with a L, just like i would love him to leave with a big W! but most of all, let's hope that both teams play well, that it's a great game and that both teams escape the game with out any significant injuries. good luck guys.
  8. i know usc isnt MissSt. that's why LSU will score one point less.
  9. Welcome Gamecock fans! Good discussion.

After the Fla. game you played last year, its obvious on a good day you can hang, and possibly upset a top 5 team, on their field.

As for the 07 Tigers, we're not sure what we've got so far. We have confidence in our D, and hope for our O. We lost our QB and 2 wideouts to the NFL, in the first round, we lost our OC, O line coach and wide receivers coach, that's a lot of replacing to do. No way we replace Russell, Bowe and Davis in the passing game. On the other hand, our running game should be better, with a younger, faster stable of backs. Our O line presented problems early last year, and in game one, but coaching can pick that up a bit. If we get it together, maybe we can rush the ball better than last year.

In our one game, we covered kicks well, there is speed on the coverage unit, and the kickers looked good.

I think we'll win, but an upset is possible if we're not sharp. SC is one of the 5 teams I mentally gave a shot at upsetting us, although on paper, I rated us the favorite in every game.
  10. 311 yards rushing to ULL at home? That may be a bad sign for conference play!!
