Simple and true. Consumers are now cultured to have what they want when they want thus the beginning of the genetic engineering era of food production. Farms need to be more responsible to the land, a synergy, bio mimicry if you will. Multi facet farming is the solution to how the land can give back at such a rate that the same 1/2 acre of land provides revenue through 100% of the year. My favorite farmer, Mr. Joel Salatin. I'm 59 and remember by grandparents raising all their food. My granddaddy on my mothers side could make some of the best sausage I've ever eaten. I remember my dad telling my how they'd keep one hog and feed it until it was around 600 pounds just to have the lard to fry things in. Funny thing is they lived long and fruitful lives. All my grandparents lived into their 80's and even 90's. I'm sure it's the steroids and growth hormones we're exposed to now.
I know that my life was shortened...not from steroid laden food...but because I was eating it while watching last year's Ole Miss game.:hihi:. but what the heck. I got a new TV afterwards.:thumb:. Great story about the Hogs !!! (at leat we beat them :yelwink2
