I think that days of a conference letting one member get the lions share of the profits is over. That one member tends to get all the top recruits and wins the most games, not surprisingly. It becomes the Big One, Little Eleven Conference. That is what killed the old SWC--Texas dominance. Everyone knows it but Texas. The SEC has proved that equal shares between all members is highly successful.
Exactly. I think the straw that broke the camels back is when the Longhorn network went an unprecedented step further and started broadcasting HIGH SCHOOL games. Now, they have an added financial and recruiting advantage, which gives them an unfair advantage over the other member schools; including OU. It doesn't hurt OU as much because they still have the ability to continue landing top blue chip recruits, but the Ok St and A&Ms of the world can't compete with that.
Two things, if revenue sharing in the Big 12 had been/was fair and the LHN had never started, you think Neb Col and A&M would be gone or leaving???
I don't know, the S-E-C thing just doesn't seem all that cool to me. If we are in a big OOC game why not just chant L-S-U? Just seems silly but by all means, carry on. I'll keep laughing.
pretty sure jim rome doesnt like it. hence, his west coast opinion influences shanes impressionable mind.
