His Savior status portrayed in the media distorts what the guy really is, and without his teleprompter, he's a decent speaker. Better than Bush no doubt.
Unfortunately Hillary will be about as successful as Condi. Rags think women are second class humans and thats not going to change.
I thought they believed everyone outside of their belief system to be second-class humans. I realize that women are probably lower than dogs to them, but no Americans are going to pull much weight with them.
America pulls a lot of weight with them, despite their rhetoric. It's going to be difficult for any American SoS as it has been, but the situation is out of control and threatening to become a regional war with us in the middle. I'm hoping that Hillarybama takes the pragmatic approach that Slick did. It's time we start acting in America's best interests here, which are NOT always the same as Israels best interests.
since i posted the others, here is that horrible waste of time poem.
What I find hard to understand is this type of sentiment and hatred towards Mr Bush and his administration. I understand the dissatisfaction, thats easy, much of his term is mired in failures. None of which makes him or his administration bad enough people to be hated. Unless you are one of the Americans that has been effected by the economy, and I don't mean just a lil loss in the paycheck. I mean loss of job, loss of assets, loss of savings, loss of home, and loss of your personal health and happiness. Unless you are someone that has been directly effected by the military conflict. Serving in Iraq, loss of a loved one, had a loved deployed for a length of time. Also other issues, these are just the big ones. Then I really don't think you have much to want to hate about. Be dissatisfied, be upset by whats going on, want change, yes. Even if you are one of those that has been unfortunately effected by the last 8 yrs of the Bush administration, I don't think he should be hated. This is from someone living it daily. All that said I have hope that the new administration can achieve some positive change. BTW I am not directing this to you personally. I just used your statement to quote because it represents much of the American sentiment towards Mr Bush.
Bush admirers always seem to take any criticism of his policies to be personal hatred and that is not the case. I don't hate the guy. Look at any of the thousands of critical posts I've made and you won't find a statement saying I hate him. I hate many of his policies and clearly everybody hates the outcome of the wars and the economy. Personally Bush is a very likable guy. I don't think he's evil, dishonest, or even insincere. I believe he thinks he's doing the right thing. I don't hate the guy. I simply believe that he was an incompetent, truculent, and not terribly bright President. But I'd go fishing with him.
I believe you when you say that, and also believe a large portion of the people that voted against him/McCain probably feel the same way. But please don't deny that there is a high level of vitriolic sentiment towards Bush/Republicans/Conservatives in this country amongst a large portion of the population. And it is not necessarily from the segment most deeply effected recently. That being military families or people that took a beating in the market/housing last year. Certainly there are extremists on both sides with no love for one another, but the left manages to manifest itself in some very ugly ways. And they don't all live in San Fran.
I would agree that you are one of the more diplomatic posters in your opinion of Mr Bush and his administration. I am sure you would agree that there are many who do represent their opinion as hatred. I for one am no Bush admirer or apologist. I respect him, as having been my President, but I am also hopeful that Pres Obamas administration can fix the mess of the previous administration.
