Kumbaya diplomacy dont work. Obama will find that out very quickly with Israel and the Palestinians. I heard him the other day talk about a new approach, telling each side to "see what its like to walk in the others shoes". I would say this has been tried about....oh, a thousand times maybe? You have two factions both believing they are the chosen ones. They've been warring for hundreds of years. A kumbaya sing along aint gonna get it done.
The teleprompter is his baby blanket. Without it, he's a stuttering Stanley. He is a better speaker than Bush, but not by much without his teleprompters. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Here's hoping he doesn't eff everything up that isn't already effed.
His honeymoon with the liberal media will not end. His honeymoon with the American people is another story and will eventually come to an end unless he proves to be much different from Presidents of the recent past.
It is easy to be a Monday morning Qb, now Pres Obama go be the Sunday Qb. That said, I hope he has the continued support of his country and does a great job.
How? He's black, right? It's okay for him to say stuff like that. :insane: The media will continue to bolster his facade no matter how bad it may get for us.
that was just a one-time slip-up. the teleprompter aint going anywhere so by todays standards hes a great speaker. georgie can hardly read english. you almost seem like you're hoping he fails because bush failed (in the eyes of the media and many others) --which is indirectly the same as hoping the country fails.
I just don't get that song. You can change the title and the lyrics but it's still the British Friggin' National Anthem, for Gawd's sake. I bet the Limeys really get a charge out of it. Damned if I know why "America" is "God Save the Queen" with different lyrics, except that our founding fathers were all English. I shouldn't be surprised, our own National Anthem is an old English drinking song with different lyrics. Does this seem at all ironic on this African-American kind of day?
Don't mistake Obama's lofty rhetoric for the far more gritty diplomacy that Hillary is going to be practicing in the middle east. It will require the carrot and the stick. It will also mean expecting Israel to make compromises, as well as the Palestinians. But nothing can be accomplished if the Palestinians don't come up with a leader who can control both Hamas and Fatah and the dozens of renegade radical elements. Yassar Arafat once had marginal control, but failed to exercise it properly, wasting his moment. Right now the Palestinians can't even agree with each other and the presence of Israel is the only thing stopping Hamas Gaza from warring on Fatah West Bank directly . . . again. Thousands of years. Hebrews = Israelis and Philistines = Palestines. Same people, same fight. Only now it impacts all Western relations with the Middle East and with our Russian and Chinese adversaries as well.
