I was cringing too when he was lining up for that field goal. I would've felt more comfortable with him kicking from 40 yards. It's a weird problem he has.
I loved Mike the Tiger as a kid growing up in Baton Rouge. It is a tradition. But, I really hate the idea of tigers being in cages. It's so depressing. They have a hunting radius that spans miles. It's really weird and unnatural to stuff something that amazing into a cage, steaks or not.
The only thing that Mike is missing is a steady flow of young tiger trim making their way though his cathedral.
I kinda agree with you here, but let's at least give Mike an opportunity to explore. Why not dig a tunnel through to a smaller field level cage in TS? It wouldn't be that long of a tunnel. You could expand his habitat and his natural curiosity might lead him to go there. Keep it closed until game day morning, then close the tunnel behind him once he shows up in the stadium. Might work, whatever we're doing now isn't.
