Coach O won't be here long. I think we all know it in our guts. There was just nothing else after missing on Herman and Jimbo. I guess that's the silver lining. Nobody looks that great when you're trying to replace a coach like Les Miles. But it won't be hard finding a sexy name when it comes time to replacing O.
2014: Lost 41-7 to Auburn 2014: Lost 17-0 to Arkansas 2015: Lost 31-14 to Arkansas (at home) 2015: Lost 38-17 to Ole Miss. 2008: Got our asses whipped by the SEC East (Georgia and Florida) that year. Miles was not bulletproof.
Oh ya, and there was that game in the superdome in January of 2012. Don't remember who we were playing but our offense never showed up and defense eventually quit. I think he had a pretty good team that season if I'm not mistaken.
Sure. I'll give you all of those, and no, Miles was not bulletproof, nor was Saban while he was here. The early part of Miles' tenure had far fewer of the "give up" games. In the early years, it always felt like his team would fight until the end, which was, really, what I liked most about him as a coach. But last night had a decidedly Curley Hallman (not even DiNardo) feel to it. Tirk nailed that.
Can't argue with you on that. I'm in agreement, I'm one very upset Tiger fan this morning and I too think we're in for a long season (and probably couple of years or longer). But none of that changes the fact that Les Miles was done winning championships and needed to go. I'll be more than happy to eat my crow but I don't think there is anything else I really need to see to know that Coach O is in over his head and that will likely never change. If he wanted to make a splash with the fans he should have brought in a pass 1st offensive coordinator. And I'm a Run first fan! That's sad!
Yes, I acknowledged those two. The last several years under Miles were certainly not great. But I have a feeling they are going to seem great compared to the O's years, which will (hopefully) be short if he cannot right the ship.
We have a lot of young but very talented players. Except for the line on both sides of the ball. If I was the coach I'd be scouting every junior college in the country for big, quick and mean O and D linemen who could play next season.
