Long passes hold the safties and linebackers so we can run a bit and our tall recievers are winning those long ball battles since the 1st game. We need more of it.
Problem is being able to block up front long enough to let those routes develop. I think a West coast passing game would benefit us.
I'm not sure it was sitting on the lead. Like I said in the game thread post-game, you've got a QB who doesn't perform well when pressured behind a line that doesn't pass block well. Very bad combo, and I think Canada's play calling down the stretch reflected those two issues.
For me, its a good sign our guys had fire. Not sure why they didnt have it before, but i suspect some thought they were badasses already and got humbled. I think O deserves the credit for having them up to the task. I also like the Heart by the D. Wish we had a QB. Even with our flaws, I think anbetrer QB and we would have a solid season.
