Exactly... We had 6 drives in the 2nd half... 2 started on our 15, 1 started on our 1 (we get a TD) and one was on our 38, but we were trying to get the Gators to use their t.o.s... So, with being backed up, situationally, we absolutely had the right plays called... Half their points came on special teams or the game isn't close...
We missed a couple of interception opportunities. Against a good team, it will come back to bite you.
Only 3 penalties for 20 yards is the good. Overall the officiating wasn't bad bit the zebras did blow a couple of big ones. Should have been interference on the incomplete pass to Dupreee in the end zone and I saw a helmet to helmet block by Florida and no call.
Ugly - no Moore, Mouton really needs to be fast-tracked. Ugly - TW return decisions, more Guice please. Ugly - TE coverage. This favors all remaining SEC teams on schedule.
Strong points, all of them. I was a little disappointed in the O-line. Not that they were bad, but they did not display the dominance that they have been showing. Still . . . it was a top-10 opponent with a highly rated rushing defense. And Teuhema went down in the first half and had to be replaced for quite a while. Clapp moved from right to left guard and Weathersby, a true freshman listed as Alexanders backup at tackle, came in at right guard. It may have thrown them off a bit. They are still the strongest line I can remember at LSU and I suppose I am expecting perfection from them. So I guess we are seeing our next star offensive lineman in Weathersby and I wonder what has happened to Boutte? He was supposed to start before summer practice and now he's not even the first guy in at his signature position. Is he hurt or in the doghouse? Or is it his 345 pounds? He zone blocks very well inside but he may be just too heavy to pull outside at guard and run the I-formation for Leo.
I agree, as ST is a phase of the game (with O and D)... My response was to the play calling being called conservative... When you're backed up most of the half and you're leading, you run the ball until you get out of the hole... If we attempt a pass and Brandon throws an int while we're backed up, the board would go crazy with why the play was called at that particular point on the field...
