We did have lousy field position. Even with only 3 penalties called against us the entire game, the officiating again was horribile. Many holds could have been called against UF all night. Seems like Key was held just about every play.
Yeah, it's easy to remember we didn't convert on 3rd downs and seemed "conservative", but hard to remember the details of a dropped pass, etc. I'm saying all of us, not just you.
A couple of other notes: Oline was fabulous The short yardage defense was incredible against the run The defense really only gave up 14 points as White gave up 7 UF points by trying to catch that bouncing ball Steele called a very good game Cam called a very good game Miles called a very good game While they might have a hard time in coverage our LB's were spectacular against the run LF is amazing
The second drive was Guice for 4, incomplete long pass attempt and Harris scramble one yard short. The third drive was Fournette for 7, Fournette loss of 3 or so and screen to Williams just short. The drive after that was two straight Fournette runs for first down that got us to the 4th quarter which we won.
I actually thought the linebackers covered better. Dieon Jones especially, dude was matched up on a wide receiver a bunch of times last night had a few pass breakups including one on a critical 4th down in the 4th quarter.
Who would have thought he would have had 7 sacks after 6 games. LSU has only had 3 players ever with double digit sacks.
