Never know until you do it, the bigger mistake in my opinion would be to let this wound fester into something you can't come back from. Texas and Tennessee waited too long to pull the trigger. LSU can't let this thing get any worse than it is now. 80 percent is fine and dandy but last 4 years Les is 35-12, that ain't 80 percent.
For the first 9 years of Miles' tenure, I believed this and made this same argument on this very site. But after these past two years I no longer believe it can get much worse and yes I'm old enough to have experienced the 80s and 90s. We are scraping by on talent alone. Squeaking out wins against Syracuse and E. Michigan made us think things weren't that bad but they are. We are at best a middle of the pack SEC team and I don't see it getting better. As others have pointed out, we've been on a downward trajectory for several years. I appreciate all CLM has done for LSU, I like him and wish he could have righted the ship but I no longer have confidence that he is the man for the job. It's time to move on.
Yes, the players are sucking it up big time. I said that in a previous thread. The QB is erratic, the OL can't block consistently and too many penalties, the WR's have too many drops, the DL can't hold any contain or get after the QB, the LB's can't cover or tackle worth a shit, the DB's cover well in man but suck in zone and they also can't tackle, and the special just straight up suck. Now that's out of the way don't you think some of that has to do with the shitty coaching that has taken place at LSU since '11? Over the last few years LSU has shown up to too many games ill prepared. In previous seasons LSU also lost many games they should have won. It's not about just W's or L's, it's about watching a team show improvement, not regression. It's about a team showing up prepare to play a game. It's about instilling that winning attitude back in the team, that swagger to fight until the end. I'm not seeing that. Say what you want also, but the mass exodus of JR's that are not ready has to have something behind it. It appears you feel everything is on the players. That Miles has done a wonderful job over the last few years.
It's definitely on everyone but ultimately it's the coaching staff's fault because it's their job to make sure what you do during the week and in the offseason translates to Saturday.
I believe a better coaching staff could get better results with these players. I think Miles is underutilizing his talent.
A fan of LSU hoping that LSU loses and has an empty stadium for the last home game. This makes me more upset than the shit shows on the field the last two weeks.
To be fair, that northwestern Arkansas area is some of the most beautiful territory I've seen, so it can't be that bad.
I'll never root against LSU I don't care what is going on. I may predict a loss but it will still sting when it happens and I will hope my prediction is wrong.
I'm not numb to any LSU losses. Some hurt more than others, but they all hurt bad. The beat down by a much lesser talented piggies hurt pretty bad. The fact that it was back to back total embarrassments didn't cushion the blow.
