Depending on how the rest of this season goes, it could be a valid reason. I've seen many people fired in the real world for better than what Miles is producing right. Again, it's not just the W's or L's, but the product on the field. It is the growing trends that we are seeing of LSU losing it's fire and swagger. It's the kids leaving early. It's the lack of coaching.

I'll bet you a bottle of single-malt scotch that Les will not be fired this season.

You're right, red. He won't be fired. But based on what you've seen and how LSU is trending over the last couple of years, do you still believe that he can turn it around or do you think his better days are behind him?

I might take that bet even though it seems likely miles will still be here, but I don't know if my paycheck can support anything better than swill.

Edit: I'd modify the language to include retirement.

    Ask Miles for a loan.

I never said he will be fired. I don't think he will be fired. I just said people in the real world who are paid far less get less opportunities than Miles is. It's a difficult situation because you do have to fear a negative backlash like Miami and Nebraska. However I feel it is better than to wait too long like Texas did. I'm not sure what more you need to see?

Can I get some of that negative interest? I'd feel kinda bad considering how critical of the guy I've been. I have tried to stay above the belt, I respect a lot about the person he chooses to be.

Negative interest? You mean like borrow $100 and only pay back $95?

Were his best days behind him in 2008-2009? No coach in the world has a steadily rising win curve. They have peaks and valleys, good years and bad years. Les has had a couple of 8-win seasons here, but so did Nick, in half the time. No losing seasons at all. And we've been to the championship game twice, Nick took us once. So who can say? Not me and not you. The notion that two losses in a row means a tailspin that we cannot recover from is far-fetched.

I watch LSU football to have fun. I realize that LSU will lose some, but mostly we will be a contender, win a lot of games and be an elite team. So I plan to enjoy myself. I realize that there are folks who live to be miserable, whine, and moan and let a trifling thing like a football game ruin their lives. Not me. Football has been fun since Les had been here. Would I trade him for a young Curley Hallman, Mike Archer or Gerry Dinardo in hope of finding the next Bear Bryant. Not me, amigo.
