I don't think we should ignore what our allies say. I think we should use them as "added input" on situations. But as Bush said, "I don't think I need a permission slip to determine what is best for America."
right, and i think that even kerry probably realizes that. he just had to say something to try and get votes from people who can't stomach war. i think maybe the battle to beat howard dean, when kerry had to veer hard towards the left and peaceniks to make it through the primary, that was probably what killed kerry. the liberal wing of the democratic party ruined them, by forcing kerry to lose credibility about the war. its too bad politicians are basically all miserable scoundrels, compromising their true beliefs at every turn to please the stupid masses. oh well, democracy, what can ya do.
Exactly. I don't think most people realize the influence Howard Dean had on the war. The escalation of deaths probably had an effect as well, but Dean brought everyone further left on the war. Before Dean, Kerry and company really didn't use the war as a huge attack on Bush.
