Without a doubt ... and that's ALL the Dwarf has to get a win! But ... that road works TWO WAYS!!! They injure Lee "dirty" ... I guarantee Mc Carrion get a "Joe Theisman"
I think you should be a bit more worried about the run game... If you can get that going that can open up the pass. Bama has the best run defense in the nation, but isn't known for it's pass rush at all, so that could benefit LSU. LSU also has a dual threat with Jefferson, and Bama hasn't faced a dual threat like this yet this season. You can pretty much guarantee that LSU is gonna get one or two TD's through the air on a team that likes to give up the long ball, at least once a game. Unfortunately, Bama learns from their mistakes, and fast. That has a lot to do with coaching, and experience. Late in this game, the issues you speak about, are going to come true, and LSU won't have an answer on offense.
If Lee keeps getting the ball off to the 1st option quickly this won't be a huge problem IMO. Only if the WRs have a hard time getting separation. Make some checks on play action and we will be fine.
I don't think we'll have as much trouble running the ball as the other teams you guys have faced. We run the same power I that you do. Kent didn't run it, Arky doesn't run it, TN, Ol Piss, and Vandy don't run it, Northtexas ... well ..who cares what they run. Don't know about Penn State .. but to say the least, a power run game is not their forte. LSU won't break any 20-30 yrd runs .. but they will get those 3-5 yard runs they are accustomed to running. Your linebackers are good, but I don't care who you are, a 230 lb blocking back is going to jar your teeth and slow you down. ... and all it takes is that millisecond of pause for a back to slip through for a 3-5 yrd gain. You guys are kinda spoiled, T.R. is awsome, especially at breaking the runs for extra gains. LSU doens't have the breakaway runners .. but they are good for what they are good for ... 3-5 yrds a pop. Whereas, you guys get first downs by the 20 yrds when they break, we get first downs 10 yrds at a time .. .usually with 2-3 plays. Our long yardage always comes from passing.
Qb protection... I'm glad PJ will be back #64 P.J. Lonergan Position: Center Height: 6'4" Weight: 305 lbs.
