never would have guessed that. dont you know anyone you dont like? i do. i avoid them. and for the record, supafan is most straightforward believer here. i'm not. i am less adamant about that than anyon you have ever met, i would guess. i am interested in people, not magic. what i am really looking for is for other people to stop being crazy. but i am actually not nearly as into it as i was years ago. i used to truly be stunned and obsessed with the idea that people were so into fantasy and it was so widespread. i am still amazed, but i dont wonder about it as much. and it seems to me that if folks would just think for a moment, they woudnt be religious anymore. but they are desperate to be fooled. they will make up a personal experience if they have to.
i dont think you believe that to be true, by the way. no they dont. christians are supposed to spread the good news of the gospel. they are supposed to "witness" to others. but maybe you guys are right. maybe god does talk to folks. maybe god does tell terrorists to blow things up, that kinda thing. lets go to our places of worship and ask.

i thought "religion is a personal thing and we cannot be inside anyone else's head" or whatever. you fellers are quick to remind me that subjective experience is real to the person it happens to, but not so quick when the person's claims seem absurd to you.
if it infringes upon someone elses rights, lets say murder, for instance, then its a slightly different issue. if its someone who is a law abiding citizen i dont care. surely you're not that dense. i dont care whats in anyones heads until then. the atheist comment was a joke dude.
i mean, how do you know that it is not true and right that god told them to kill? god loves to kill, and always has. one time he flooded the whole world. one time he unleashed 7 plagues. the idea that god would want to kil infidels is not far fetched at all. if we accept that god speaks to folks, and we accept that we are in no position to mock their stupidity lying about the voice in their heads, then how can we know that the crazed arab is lying about his suicide mission from god? i mean, either god talked to the arab or he didnt, right? we dont know either way. right?
