You must have read over the second part of what I said... It is your assumption that religious/spiritual folks blindly follow something. I am telling you quite a few of us aren't blindly following anything. We are exercising critical thinking. I am trying to have a serious conversation with you because I openly admit that I don't know and I'm always looking for outside sources to help ammend my line of thinking. Your responses are condescending and smug because you think you have it all figured out - there is no need to wonder, because wonder can't be scientifically proven. I'll say it again, imagination drives science. People collaborate and say what if this or what if that, they may inspire one another, this is how progress is made. You are stuck in a strictly scientific way of thinking. There are other perspectives, other valid perspectives, out there.
what exactly have i figured out? how to magically contact god or transcend or whatever? thats what you have figured out. i havent figured out anything. repeat: the athiest is the ONLY person who isnt claiming to know something about god. there is a difference between "imagining" what would happen with a particular boson particle or whatever, and "imagining" that you are in a magic state of talking to zombies. hey thats great, junior. keep it up.
You keep trying to justify it by placing blame on individuals. While they are ultimately responsible, you cannot deny the part that religion plays.
So what you are saying, by your own admission, is you adhere to the most flawed school of thought. In that since science can't disprove God, they are wrong, and since God can't be proved through science religion is wrong. By default admitting they are both right.?
please learn how to spell "sense". your version of it is so close to "science" that it is confusing. i will correct it and address what you said, which incidentally was almost retarded level stupid. wrong about what? please dont tell me you think that an inability to prove something wrong makes it true? please? can you prove that vanderbilt will not win the next 10 national championships? no? not possible to prove it because it hasnt happened yet? HAHAHAHAHA STUPID SCIENCE GO COMMODORES
Typical type answer from someone who has know logical responses to questions. Especially not even directed to you. If I wanted your advice I ask for it.
I will admit that I have not read the entire thread so forgive me if this has already been brought up but: 1. I am catholic, non-practicing cause I just don't go to church enough. 2. I do believe in God 3. It is really hard to really come to grips with things when you have certifiable scientific proof of things like the epic of Gilgamesh which in tablet 9 strangely sounds a lot like the story we know as Noah's Ark or things like Zoroastrianism which is again strangely close to what we know as "The Bible" but were composed centuries before the birth of Christ... It lends credence to the idea that these things were/could have been created because there was a lack of order/control/police if you will. Something to scare the people into behaving for a fear of some sort of repercussions. I know I'm a nut because somehow with the evidence telling me what I think to be true could very well be a fallacy, I still think it to be true and I guess that is why they call it Faith.
You did mean "Since" right? Unless of course you were referring to his ability to either see, touch, smell, taste or hear the science? Just checking:grin:
