Context is indeed essential, but I maintain: 1. The bible is full of human sacrifice to a vengeful Jewish God. 2. The essential Christian ethic is "Do the right thing".
I would love an explanation as to who wrote these codes and laws before Adam was created...since he was the first human and all.
The story of Adam came after the codes/laws as well. You want me to write a book that has a story of Bob giving these codes/laws before Adam, I will.
i have heard that some fundamentalist christians think that if you add everyone's age up in the bible, which comes up to roughly 6000 years, that that is how old the earth is. is this true, is there a sect of christians that really believe this?
I just love how so many are supporting the arguement of man would have figured out morality and laws on their own, but with as advanced as man is now these same people feel the need to disect a simple concept just to support their belief. Yet, can't figure out what the simple meaning of the comment is.
So rather than acknowledge your awareness of the bible, you chose to ignore it just to validate your previous point. Hmm, oh never mind. I am not debating the differences in denominations as to who is right. As I have said, I don't believe in institutionalized religion.
that seems like a novel idea. what are we all fussing about then? you know, if there's nothing for us to do. millions out of billions (ok, 1.17 billion), bfd. its not a recent thing. christianity has been over there for just about 2000 yrs no one answered the question
