No problem...I understand. And I can see why you would feel like that. That is what I find great about His plan of salvation. It is totally up to you to accept or reject. You made your choice, and "no" I am not being judgemental toward you. The Bible tells us that MANY will reject His plan. It also tells us that many of the one's who claim to have accepted will be surprised on judgement day. Just saying "I believe" doesn't do it. If you accept it, there will be changes in your life. Am I a "good" Christian? Not really. There are many things in my life I should be doing better at. Sometimes I feel like I am dangerously living on the edge and had better make some changes.
I believe that I have been forgiven for the things that I have asked forgiveness for. Yet no man is capable of totally living without some sin in his life. Yet, I continue to ask forgiveness for repeats. Kind of like saying I'm sorry. Am I truely sorry or sorry I got caught. And I believe that God, in His infinite wisdom can tell what is really in my heart. But you bring up a good point. I knew a guy who really stated in class that he thought that he was getting close to the point to where he would be able to live his life without sin in it. I totally blew off any respect for his Bible knowledge at that point. Yes, the Bible says to be ye perfect as I am perfect. To me, that is simply telling me to try to live as close to Him as I can. To this guy, he took it to mean that he really was capable of being perfect. This is the same guy who got a railroad retirement due to hurting his back. Yet he could ride a tractor and cut hay all day long. He could lift the hay bundles and throw them on the trucks. If you needed him to do some work for you, he wanted to be paid in cash so he would not endanger his rr retirement or have to pay taxes. We just don't see eye to eye. He was a good man and it is not my call as far as was he "really" a Christian. His underhanded ways just ruined my respect for his credibility.
i was contesting "singular". to me its anything but that. has several themes, was written by countless people and much later somewhat arbitrarily compiled.
So what are the repercussions for wrongdoing? I can cheat on my wife, beat my kids, steal from my company and as long as I can justify my actions within my own interpretation of morality I'm cool? Sweet. So perhaps you can explain why the divorce rate among Christians is not significantly lower than among non-Christians? Only two of the ten commandments are actual laws and even those two laws are not . I'd say that we already did figure it out all on our own.
+ 1, also people wouldn't kill others in the name of religion without god, or allah, or whomever you worship, zeus, hades, cronus, etc, etc.
