You know, the Stanfurd folks here STILL are a ridin' on the back to back Rose Bowl wins in the early 70's with Jim Plunkett... And with only one trip back to the Rose Bowl since (a loss to Wisconsin) they STILL don't have anything to crow about since... And Cal is even worse, with the Bears last trip to the Rose coming in 1959... They're so embarrassed they don't even BEGIN to bring up that long ago.... THAT'S pretty sad... :hihi: We bring up old and new championships.... Heritage is EVEN BETTA when you got some RECENT :crystal: :geauxtige
Another factor is that Guilbeau is now toiling for Gannett Newspapers which has rags in Shreveport, Lafayette, Monroe and the like. He may be pandering to all of the LSU hating Cajuns, Demons and Techsters of the state.
That's what I find funny...if you are doing a top ten at least stick with the script. Of course he handily included his e-mail address to remind him of any he forgot. I vote we forget him.
I'm sure that Lee Feinswog will have Guilbeau as a regular guest on Sports Monday again this year. Oh the JOY!
Well, as someone who is not a purple and gold homer, I even thought the article was a little overboard. I do think that LSU really plays off of that whole night game angle, but so what??? Every school tries to have something that sets it apart from everyone else ala the 12th man at aTm etc. Do they take it to extreme sometimes??? Yes. Of course you have a better record at night b/c the majority of the home games are played at nite. Half of the home schedule on a yearly basis has games that LSU is a lock to win. If LSU plays 7 home games in a year, you can almost bank it that they will be double digit favorites in 4 or 5. Im a believer in the fact that you will win games you are supposed to win. If you are better than the other team, you will win the game. It has nothing to do with night and day. Having said that, the article is just to overboard and is obvious LSU bashing.
Another big point is... LSU doesnt claim all the wacco ass national titles as some other schools do... such as ole miss's 2 or 3 they have posted in their stadium although they where not from the major polls... and georgia claiming they have like 12? i dont know whats up with that... or some schools counting AP / USA as 2 for one year... its bs... no one ever says anything bad about that... Point is LSU's record is probably better at night mostly due to the fact that we play rent a wins 3 times each year for the most part at home... at night... and yeah it kinda pads that stat... but your crazy if you think that place isnt 50 times more insane at night... All I can say to conclude is i cant wait to hear... Chance of Rain.... NEVER
