"Part of the lore of Tiger Stadium is the tradition of playing games at night, an idea that was first introduced in 1931 against Spring Hill (a 35-0 LSU victory). This year, LSU will celebrate its 75th year of playing night football in Tiger Stadium. Since that first night game in 1931, LSU has played the majority of its games at night and the Tigers have fared much better under the lights than during the day. Since 1960, LSU is 195-59-3 (.765) at night in Tiger Stadium compared to an 18-22-3 (.453) record during the day over that span." -LSUsports.net
No one is saying LSU is invincible in Tiger Stadium at night. It's the experience that people, including opponents and opposing fans, talk about. Guilbeau's got a hard on for LSU and Miles. Anyone who thinks otherwise is not paying attention.
Nobody ever said that LSU is invincible at night or at home. Just that LSU wins a higher percentage at night than in the daytime, which happens to be true.
worst night games for LSU - should also include the '99 OM vs. LSU game - 42-23 rebs ; tigers couldn't stop Deuce or Gunn with 13 players on D:hihi:
i really used to like guilbeau because he was a breath of truth amongst the herding masses of lemurs we have as local sports writers yet this scorn he holds for LSU is clearly shining through. I think this one is his signature piece to prove he has issues and is now the finebaum (as mentioned before) of LSU sports. poor guy needs to let whatever it is, go. i guess he got run off from here for not being a kiss-ass and decided to go full bore?
What an appropriate time to write an article about this.....LSU hasn't lost a Saturday Night game in Death Valley since 2002.....
