good for him, a winning record. still amounts to nothing in the grand scheme of things.

police blotter won't matter either til his 3rd or 4th year to get the real glimpse of his type players.

i have much faith in les miles and love what he has seemingly done thus far but i sure as hell ain't drinking no kool-aid that's still 90% saban's sugar.

miles will be judged on what he wins with his talent in the end and what games he doesn't blow with arguably the best talent in the land currently.

he's basically in a no-win situation this year when the verdict finally comes in. all incumbent coaches to a god have a tough job but he knew what he was getting into. imagine in year one people saying 2 losses is a failure. thats a tough gig.

i think he will be successful in the end but Im not tossing and bouquets til its proven on the field and off.

That was one year with 4 first-rounders in that group.

He has had an entire career of average years thus the adminstration wanting him gone last year.

Terry Bowden also went undefeated in a season too....

so what? he recruited those first rounders. thats a weak argument.

he's beaten nick saban more times than he's lost.

I hate the dude as much as any but to deny he is a good yet classless coach is foolish.

Who said he wasn't good? I said he wasn't one of the top 3 nor do I think he is with his entire past.

Not a weak argument at all...he recruited them...great. Jim Donnan was a great recruiter too at UGA...but they both won 8 games yearly thus getting Donnan fired and almost getting Tubby fired.

BTW, I would put Tubby #4...maybe I worded that a bit strongly saying how someone could put him Top 3.

I think Spurrier/Fulmer are 1-2 with their success.

I leave out Miles/Meyer/EdO since they are new.

I put Richt #3. Leads the SEC in wins since 2001, numerous people drafted during his time including his own recruits, SEC Title, 2 outright SEC East Titles, won 10+ games three of the last four years.

I think with an SEC Title under his belt, Miles can move up to the top quite soon

yeah its very weak imo. he won 13 games with his talent, has beaten saban more than he lost, even had a winning record at ole myth even though it was horrid when he took over. oh yeah he beat LSU there too more than he lost. hell he took that crap program to a bowl. always in the running for the sec west. little bowden was caught cheating, tubby just gets caught faxing his resume' and smoking cigars.

51-24 (.680) at AU in the best conference in america in a state where you always plays 2nd fiddle to tuscalooser. easy math for me minus my hatred for the sack of ****.

    51-24 at auburn is stellar.

Nope. Not weak at all. Guy has a record that is average at best throughout his entire coaching career. Auburn's Admin didn't want to fire him after last year because he was such a fantastic coach. When he wins 9+ games in two consecutive years I will give him his due and put him in my Top 3 (as if he cares) but until then I put him below the men in the SEC who can win consistently year after year. Recruiting means **** unless you can coach them to success.

Which of Richt's recruits were drafted by the NFL and how high? He definitely developed the full cupboard left to him by Donnan, but it's a bit early to say he's had "numerous" of his recruits drafted.

Don't get me wrong, IMO Richt is a solid coach and one of the better coaches in the conference. I'd certainly want him as my coach, but I could say the same for Spurrier, Tuberville, and Fulmer also..... okay, mebbe not Fulmer. :hihi:
