He was ranked sixth in the nation at DTackle and gave up football. Do you think Saban might be able to convince him otherwise? Either way its a great pickup for LSU basketball...
Yeah, but he is Ranked the #3 Best Power Forward in Hoops. LSU already has the #5 Ranked DT Committed in Glenn Dorsey.
Glen Davis won't play football at LSU. A student attending school on a football scholarship may play basketball, but since he will have a basketball scholarship, he is ineligible to play football.
I wish Glen Davis had announced a few weeks ago, rather than at the start of Football season. This is a Huge signing for our Basketball team. IMO, I do not think he will go Pro, but will polish his game with our young talented BB team.
Re: Glen Davis won't play football at LSU. Not true - any football player on athletic scholarship is considered to be on a football scholarship. IOW, Davis could play football and basketball, but his scholarship would count against the 25 and 85.
If he SIGNS a basketball scholarship, then he is not on a football scholarship, so he is then by definition barred from playing football, is he not?
Well, he could walkon to the Football team if he wanted too, I think this is legal. Not sure though..
he can still play football...he'll just be on scholly as a BBall player and walk on as a football player. generally they do it the other way around (but Davis has said that he only wants to play basketball)...due to the fact that there are a lot more football schollys than bball schollys....and one extra scholly for the basketball team is a lot more valuable than one extra for a football team. its the same way with baseball....baseball players generally have to share scholarships (why? because the NCAA is retarded)...so thats why you always see "double athletes" on scholarship with the football team.
