I thought we couldn’t nominate a Justice in a election year? haha That’s definitely what we (Repub’s) held onto last election when Obama was leaving.
Ordinarily I would agree with you but the circumstances are different this time. Same party holds senate and white house. The Demonrats changed the rules so they could do this when they were in power, now they raise hell when the Repubs do it? There is another reason, the Democrats no longer follow any rule of decency, morality and in a lot of cases legality. We are on the verge of a civil war. Naming and confirming a new justice may avert that trouble after the election. The Democrats have already stated their intention to take to the courts. Also, they have threatened to burn it all down if Trump names a replacement. If we bend the knee to the mob, they will take over. It's already happening. Give them an inch, they will take the whole freaking constitution soon. Vote for Trump like your life is dependent on it, it may well be.
According to The New Republic, 22 of the 44 previous presidents have had an opportunity to nominate a justice in an election year, me as lame ducks. Every one of them has made the nomination. And every majority Senate for the president's party has confirmed the nominee.
The GOP deserves to be relegated to the shit hole of politics if they do not nominate the judge and confirm. A SCJ is worth more than the whole lot of the sitting Senators. AND ... if by some miracle, it cost a the GOP the Senate, and if by another Miracle, Biden is elected and can remember to show up for work, it would once again show the Democrats to be the SCUM that they are if they try to expand the court. In today’s world, that would set up a scenario where the Democrats get their clocks cleaned, the newly appointed justices would be impeached, and the court returned to its previous number. Frankly, I’d like to see the US split so we can wash our hands of Leftist.
