so if bush raises spending (and he is terrible), and obama keeps that same spending and increases it, isnt he spending more than anyone in history?

so is your argument now that the obama administration will spend less than bush?

    you article:

policies from the Bush years that are scheduled to expire but that Mr. Obama has chosen to extend, and new policies proposed by Mr. Obama

So now you think Bush is terrible?
Him spending more than anyone in history is your opinion and prediction.
Something that has yet to be seen.
I dont know if he will. I hope scales back future budgets and cut the deficit some.

We wont be in Iraq during his entire term, so that will save a considerable amount of money. You probably wont agree with that money being saved right?

    From your article....

But I've seen projections that show much higher deficits. I'll research it and post it.

I understand you're posting facts but a guy who increases the budget by 1.2 trillion over 8 years versus a guy who increases it half a trillion in one year seems pretty clear to me. They're both pretty friggin bad though.

My other point is, there shouldn't have to be revenue to match the spending but a drop in spending to match lower revenue. By the way, let's call revenue what it is....taxes.

I never made any remarks like that so I assume you aren't talking about me. And I have never once on this board, to my friends, family or anyone else, defended W's spending. He was out of control, period. And I don't think the republican party is committed to being fiscally conservative right now.

obviously. a fiscal disaster. not as bad as obama though.

is your contention that obama has reduced spending since bush or increased it even more?

    probably not.

If seen you make a remark like that at least once. I agree that there shouldnt be higher taxes/revenue, whatever word you want to use. I said taxes in the same sentence. If you liked to split hairs:hihi:
Is spending bad if/when it creates alot of jobs? Can you answer that honestly, because Im torn on the answer myself.

    of course it is!

if you tax me and that makes some wasteful government job, that is terrible. i would have spent that money on a new widget, which would have given a job to someone who actually doing something productive, some service actually want. and even if i just put that money in the bank, that is cool too because the bank can loan that money to someone to help them do whatever, like start a business or buy a house, which also creates more jobs. removing money from the private sector is bad. shouldnt be dont unless absolutely necessary. taxes dont create jobs, they destroy them.

wrong again. I said an honest answer, not an answer that starts with "if you tax me and that makes some wasterful government job" that premise is wrong in itself.

How about this since you cant seem to give me a straight answer on anything. If the government sends a state money to rehab and retrofit schools, roads, parks, and government buildings, then the states issues competitive bid contracts to private contractors. After that the contractors higher more employees for long-term projects (like road and construction) along with buying more materials, from concrete contractors, railroad contractors, wood and building material contracters. How is that not creating jobs and moving the economy with bulk purchases?
