by the way, that's a terrible picture of my kid. He looks like he has a fish eye and a wall eye. He's actually really handsome (good genes).

Then stop being a crappy dad and post some cuter pics of him, where he must favor his mother :)

I did like that pic btw, cool

We may be going to Cyrpremort Point to crab. Looking into a cabin and I would want to attempt gigging flounder. All the equipment I need is a gig, light, boots and a stringer?

Linky no worky. How strong of a light is needed?

Yeah, but I don't wear boots. I go barefooted. If anything, I'd wear waders, but my kid and I usually just go barefooted.

I have a lantern similar to this:

it has a small propane tank and takes 2 mantles.

Thanks. I have some of those "boat shoes" I may wear. Or maybe even some slip ons. Just something to protect the bottom of my feet from glass, shells, stingrays...

So a hand-held LED light wouldn't be bright enough, right.

It would have to be 1000 lumens to penetrate the water. A weak flashlight will just bounce off the top of the water.

We use lights on poles that we hold under the water along the bottom. Tiga, I wear old tennis shoes for the same reasons you mentioned. Just remember to slide your feet so that you don't step on a stingray.
