Maybe they will learn that lesson, that 50% of the people you hate don't know it and the other 50% don't care. We're the 50% that don't care.
If that happened, wouldn't it have been OU #1, USC #2, LSU #3 (human polls) and OU #1, LSU #2, USC #3 (BCS). USC would get left out still and they would still be talking about this stupid 1/2 championship. Either way its screwed up.
They are having trouble understanding how we can be so good. We are recruiting better and our coaching style is not for the light of heart. We blitz you, your mother and grandpaw. Then run it down your throats to burn you over the top. Damn we are good. We are stealing their supposed Limelight. Ask them for proof and they get pissed saying get off of their board. :geaux:
Ok, what I'm about to say does NOT apply to all Auburn fans. The ones on that message board though are some of the lowest forms of life I've ever seen. They get pissed when another team turns dominant, so they HAVE to be cheating. Sorry, you may have to do that sort of thing to be successful in Alabamy, but when you own the state in recruiting, you don't need 'gifts.' When you can beat the best teams in the country, you don't need 'gifts.' Auburn is really one to talk considering the recent activity with their most vocal booster.
They would probably not made as much of a big deal about it as they are now. With OU undefeated and unbeatable, the talk would have been that either LSU or USC were just lambs to the slaughter. USC would not have any chance to win over the AP voters after LSU reams OU in that scenario. (because we would have embarassed an "unbeatable" OU team). There would have been grumblings from the USC fans, but the AP would have gone to LSU. Now that OU has that horrible loss from K-State instead of LSU, LSU gets screwed. That's right, the K-State game could have cost us a NC without an *. Bottom line is that USC did not play anyone this season and they are paying the price for it. Compete in an inferior conference, and you get penalized. All the sucking up from the media is no longer enough. That is why they installed the computer polls and SOS stuff in the BCS... to take the Pollsters out of the equation as much as possible. I don't think that the conferences (or the bowls for that matter) would have agreed to a unified bowl system if the placement of the teams was at the whim of polls. The BCS did what it was designed to do. It did it well. Polls look at WHEN you lost a game and the BCS is specifically designed (and rightfully so IMHO) to ignore when a game was lost. It seems to me that the NYT computer poll was weighted heavily to recent results. Anyone want to add weight to that poll.

Whats annoying is USC's coach coming out and calling the Rose Bowl the National Championship and the media nods their heads and agree. Didn't the Rose Bowl head come out and slip in a statement about the Rose Bowl being the championship game. Its just annoying.. this whole season, they justify themselves with the BCS rankings and when it doesn't work in their favor they jump on the human polls to back themselves up.
Nah I don't think it'll be that bad. Most people are now looking at OU askance, not LSU. Hell even the ESPN Sports Reporters all thought it was crazy to go to the Sugar right after getting drubbed in your conference game, and we know what they were saying just a few weeks ago about who "belonged" in the Sugar.
