CO you picked the teams you thought would win; whereas, I picked the teams I hoped would win. We both finished around 500 So pick and pull for the team you hope wins.
The key is these are meaningless bowl games (mostly), many of the teams don't give much of a crap about them which is why you see all of these "upsets" or games where team a should be blown off the field by team b yet somehow the game is close. It is literally a crap shoot and all logic and metrics that you'd usually use to pick the winner goes out the window. The playoff games are obviously different, no opt outs and they are actually playing for something.
There's a lot more to the bowl games than the games themselves. The games are intended to be a reward for a successful regular season. Unless you're playing in Fargo ND in late Dec I see that as being a significant positive.
