We had our 3rd string defense in against them when we were up big and they came back and scored 2 quick TD's towards the end and we put our first string Offense back in and drove the field and sealed it.

At least we aren't getting blanked in our own stadium at halftime by an unranked team.

    Who is overrated?

Mauck, Henderson, Clayton, Lavalais easily replaced eh Ramah?

At least OSU never ran for 300+ yards on LSU

They didn't get anything but 1 good run ... forget about driving

I fear one thing about GA ... Greene won't get them to the LSU game undefeated with that big fat OVERRATED #3

Holtz might very well punk them this week ...

You may be right. We might be overrated especially considering our injuries and suspensions. We were obviously missing 2/3 of our starting LB's and it showed.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if we lost to South Carolina. For some reason they always play us well especially in Columbia.

dude, OSU is about 1 jillion times better than Georgia Southern. bottom line is both teams struggled but LSU struggled against a D-1 team with a 4000 yard passer and a good defense and UGA struggled against a team with 45 scholarships. LSU came back and won the game and has a 9 game winning streak. Anderson did much better against LSU than David Greeene ever did.

    now who's overrated?

Just like the War Chickens need to concern themselves with the Miss. St. Bulldogs. I for one am glad we played like chit this past Sat. because look around, read the media, go to all the boards. Everyone is talking about how overrated LSU is. I was at the game and have watched it twice since. You will not see that team again this year. Bank On It. Then watch as we will mow people down just like last year. So keep hoping because hope is all you have against this team.

Ark St got next so wait your turn University of Alabama at Auburn

I agree that OSU is better than GSU by far. No question. But we didn't struggle against GSU. Yeah they ran against us pretty well in the first half to the tune of 112 yards and a TD. But saying we struggled is silly.

At the end of the 3rd quarter when we took all of our starters out it was 41-14 and GSU had run for about 160 yards or so. The numbers don't tell the whole story.

Anderson did better than David Greene true but even you have to admit that your defense did not look the same without Lavalais and that other DE you guys lost. The offense well... we don't even need to discuss that.

Bottom line is not many of the top 5 teams if any looked that good this past Saturday. It will be interesting to see how they improve in the coming weeks before Oct. 2nd.

well, I think the defense looked pretty good for game 1. consider:

    1) Saban said the Tigers played alot of zone in the first half due to the conditions, hence not alot of jamming off the lines. LSU plays mostly man to man in normal conditions by a wide margin.

    2) their QB took three steps and threw. No time for pressure and without bump and run those passes are open. he was able to make the decisions and hit the open guys.

    3) in the second half there were adjustments and LSU got alot of pressure on the QB and shut down alot of that. The only OSU drive was made possible by two missed tackles by players who tackle very well - Corey Webster & Lionel Turner, both are National Champion starters. Both were all over the play and did not take the player down. if either tackle is made, OSU punts again. The LSU defenders were in perfect position on these plays, these weren't missed arm tackles.

If you think by the time LSU gets to Athens that there is going to be a discernable difference between LSU's current defense and the one that beat you last september then be my guest to fool yourself. This LSU defense looks to be very good. The diminished speed on that muddy field was obvious. The defense is going to be TOUGH.

Neither the team that LSU was on Saturday or the team that UGA was against GSU will be in Athens when the teams meet up.
