Of course Obama can't win. How is that not plainly obvious? Bobby Jindal couldn't beat one of the worst candidates in American history, and HE'S immensely more qualified than virtually every politician this side of Giuliani. Don't for a second think that Louisiana politics don't mirror the rest of the country. They absolutely do. It's fun to ponder a president with a name more in line with heading the UN, but it's nothing more than that. The Democrats are stepping in serious doggy doo if they can't find an electable candidate quickly. I just can't believe the Dems are so afraid being called racist or sexist for pointing out the obvious political deficiencies in their candidates.
If you said that to my face you would wake up with your face down in the dirt, a-hole. You don't know me, so don't try to analyze me, prick. I said a black muslim cannot be elected President. That's my opinion based upon the realities of today's world. I also don't believe Hillary can get elected to the Presidency. Does that make me sexist? I don't believe a goat can win a seat on the Lafayette City Parish council, so I guess I am anti-farm animal as well. You need to just spout your do-gooder platitudes and leave the personal crap out of it.
Both of you need to leave the personal crap out of it. Now, back to the topic. The democratic and republican infighting is the result of the early start to this campaign. It's two years until the next President takes office and a year until the first primary. That is a long campaign and the democratic front-runners have a year and a half to shoot each other down before getting take on the republicans in earnest. It's going to get ugly in both parties and I make two predictions: 1. The current front-runners will be shot to pieces before the first primaries and will not be nominated. Hillary and Obama will be dead meat before the primaries and will lose key primaries. Nobody can take that much fire for that long before they get shot down. McCain is already taking vital hits and Giuliani is trying to fly beneath the radar just a little while longer. 2. Late entrys into the race will avoid this infighting and be able to concentrate on the other party. They will appear to be fresh faces and they will be nominated. I expect people like Wesley Clark for the Dems and Newt Gingrich for the GOP will enter the race about Thanksgiving along with several others. American national races last too long and are too expensive, leading to much corruption and political whoring for money. In Britain campaigns are limited to 16 weeks, that's it. It allows minor parties to have a chance and ordinary citizens to afford to run. Something needs to be done here. I also think: SabanFan is right, Obama can't win and neither can Hillary. Because of the sex/color thing but moreso because neither has the foreign policy experience that we need right now. Libertad is half-right, SabanFan is an right-wing ideologue, but not neccessarily a racist. Ask him about Jane Fonda or Teddy Kennedy someday. martin is right, Obama is not a muslim. He's an agnostic who converted to Christianity to aid in the pursuit of poontang and politics.
Calling someone a do-gooder and having him post this: ...can hardly be considered reciprocating personal attacks. Libertad is treading on seriously thin ice with me. That SOB knows nothing about me or my personal beliefs. Neither of my parents have ever so much as uttered the N word or harbored any racist feelings and that's how I was raised. It takes a lot to make me angry enough to want to actually inflict physical harm on someone, but this MFer has tapped my boiling point.:angryfire
Obama will not get the nomination. Not because of his race, but because of his lack of experience. He has only held political office for a couple of years. However, he could the the VP running-mate of the person who finally does get the nomination.
As I just stated in a previous post, Barack will not get the nomination. But his race and religion will not have anything to do with it. He won't get it because he is too inexperienced. Colin Powell could have had the Republican nomination if he had wanted it when Clinton ran for re-election, and if he had chosen to run I believe he would have defeated Clinton.
Most Americans will vote for a candidate based on their assessment of the person and his fitness for office - not the candidate's sex, race or religion.
You're going to have a hard time convincing me that Jindal lost b/c of something other than the color of his skin. Race and sex (to a lesser degree) are still major issues in this country. People will claim that Obama can't win b/c he lacks experience, but I think many will say that to avoid saying the obvious ... he can't win b/c he's black.
You disapproved of my post because it was "unintelligent and uninformed"? Maybe you (and Libertad) should brush up on your reading comprehension skills. I was not commenting on how I would vote, or why. I was simply stating a fact and that is that a lot of people will not vote for a person simply because of the color of their skin and/or their religious beliefs (see Jindal vs, Blanco). That's just the way it is. You don't have to like it, but you have to face it.
