I know that anything can happen between now and December, and most of it will, but the days of college football "working itself out" as the season presses on seem to be coming to an end. We are absolutely on a collision course with the college football version of a total disaster with the way these teams keep winning and the way the schedules unfold... Wisconsin and Purdue play this weekend and one will be eliminated from the NC hunt. Miami and UVA play and one will be eliminated from the NC hunt. Beyond that, we are potentially looking at 5 BCS undefeated teams. The winner of every BCS conference may be undefeated - wouldn't that be something else? I hate to say it, but Auburn has a great chance to finish out this season without a loss... The world of college football will be standing on its head if the Pac-10 Champ, the SEC Champ, the Big 10 Champ, the Big 12 Champ, and the ACC Champ all finished undefeated (with Auburn and OU having to win Conference Championship Games). Also, each of these conferences could very well end up with a one loss team in each of them... If you wanted a playoff system in the college game, the stage is set and the football gods are waiting to hear from you...
agree this season is on one course it won't work out as it has in the past...but hasn't everyone said that every year before? Last year's NC game had a one-loss and a two-loss team so Im not quick to dismiss anyone yet. as we know, anything is possible. also agree the removal of SOS may change that completely if Utah, OU, USuCk, Miami and Auburn somehow go without a loss. then its let's play the AP favorite game. wouldn't that be a nightmare? I know one team who would make it given that scenario. all bets are off after that. A coinflip between Miami and OU. Auburn would definitely be on the outside looking in, especially if they lost to UGA which could be a better team than all of them but in the toughest conference in the land. being in the SEC sucks with no SOS added.
thought so and before last year's asskicking didnt you lose two straight to them? Miles is an excellent coach and gets some talent that seems to go under the radar which causes his teams to go under the radar in the process til the season goes on. no tatum bell or rashaun woods to worry about. ever hear of them?
OWNED ure azz is more like it Miami wins 'em all ... and they will go to the Orange Bowl Their Dee is almost as good as LSU's was last year ... and a very similar team to LSU ... White would never be able to beat a Miami ... moot point ... OU is gonna go down ... Frankenstein is cracking apart ... Big chokefest to come
what were you watching. They gave up 38 points to a CUSA team at home. Their D isn't anywhere near 2003 LSU.
BEDLAM BABY!!!!! a great rivalry in recent years (as you have nicely pointed out). I would fear the Cowpokes from OSU this year, they have got some very nice things going on up there with Eskimo Joe in Stillwater. And don't forget about Baylor Peabody..... :hihi:
