All of this hysteria is so overblown. Do the math before you start making extreme decisions like trading in your car, etc.

Assume you drive an average of 15000 miles per year and your car gets 20 mpg. Assuming gas at 2.35/gal, your fuel cost is 1762.50/year. Now, assume that gas STAYS at 3.50/gal. Your fuel cost increases to 2625/yr, for a difference of 862.50/yr. That works out to 16.58/week. That's really not enough to go take a loss on your vehicle in a trade and buy an overpriced high mileage sewing machine.

Relax folks, it's not that bad.

I live in Pineville though, and drive about 4 miles to work. If i get a Leaf, and let my wife drive my car to work, instead of her explorer we will save some money, both cars are already paid off anyway. That damn explorer guzzles the petro.

Well...you might like this site then Nissan LEAF Electric Car

My thing is it seems a little to involved for me. I can see one big drawback, the thing needs a special fueling station, so you're fricked up the rear sideways if you travel out of the its range and down here the range is not going to be far considering you have to almost always run the AC.

I say just buy a hybrid…which by the way the additional cost of the vehicle cancels out what you save in gas…but at least you will be cutting your global footprint back.

No way a man purse would hold all the groceries I make in one trip to the store...frick, the two cases of Busch Light wouldn’t fit.

More supply cost drop. We must increase domestic production. I am all for a goverment mandate that all new autos be hybred. I would like this to help drop the need for Arab oil not for global warming nonsense

I wouldn't oppose more domestic drilling, as long as they are regulated, and are not allowed to ruin the environment.
