Republicans are selfish, this is well established. But you are letting the fat cat pay less of his income to support the nation than the middle class man does. How is that fair? Of course it is costing you. Wise up.

We are getting a little richer, the very rich are getting filthy rich on tax breaks that they don't need.

Because they are not paying their fair share, how many times do I have to say it? Geez!

They pay more than enough in actual dollars. You gripe about the percentages. Yes, they could pay more but they pay far more in actual cash than the rest of us poor saps. The pay their share and then some. Your problem is jealousy, pure and simple.

i actually dont care about gas prices all that much or the global warming hysteria. but i did figure out the calculations you did above last week with some gas calculator thingy just out of curiosity of the numbers.

I had just read an article that explained it hurts the environment more to manufacture a prius than to drive a 68 camaro for a lifetime. which is lost on all the feel gooders as well because they really arent concerned about anything as long as it makes it look like they actually care.

also, i remember car commercials in the 80s for hondas, namely a civic advertised getting about 55mpg hwy. also an isuzu truck maybe a trooper, getting about 40-45.

either **** was less regulated then and car companies could simply lie or as i would guess, these crazy emissions standards has sucked the mpg out of vehicles.

less air intake and exhaust pressure suffocating cars i assume is the issue.

clearly the technology would be there if it was truly needed. that will happen when gas gets about 8 bucks a gallon i suppose. til then its merely an inconvenience.

we just took a 600 mile road trip and gas was about the most affordable thing on the trip comparatively. and i had to use premium which was almost 4 bucks per.

    They OWE more, obviously.

Try to understand, percentages show HOW MUCH of their income they pay versus you. You are losing out. You are a chump.

They do not pay a fair share and I have demonstrated it. Income is income, you said it. Jealousy? I'm not the one kissing their asses.

False. The rich pay the highest effective rate.

    http://www.cbo.gov/publications/collections/effective_rates.pdf

    Also false.

    http://www.cbo.gov/publications/collections/tax/2009/pre-tax_income_shares.pdf

You are unquestionably wrong here. Just admit it. On what basis can you say the rich don't pay their fair share?

You know who doesn't pay their fair share? Millions of people who pay nothing and get big tax rebates. They turn a profit off of their tax returns. They have no skin in the game at all. Many sit at home and drink wine while collecting goverment handouts and walk away every year with thousands of dollars at tax time. These people could care less about national debt as long as the checks keep coming and they vote accordingly.

No they don't. They pay what they owe. To YOU, they don't pay enough, but what you think about it has zero relevance.

They pay a lower percentage of a lot more income. Nothing unfair about it at all. It apparently bugs the hell out of you because you are jealous.

I had misread your post. Let it go.

How does my not caring equate to kissing their ass?

    -404 not found.

These numbers do not prove your point. Of course the top 1% pay the most total taxes, that is not the issue, they make the most of the money. The issue is that they pay a lower percentage of their income than the middle class does.

I am not. You have proved nothing. You just repeat old charges.

How many times do I need to say it. They get a break on investment income which is the bulk of their earnings, versus the rate the middle class pays on salaries and business profits which is the bulk of ours.

Why shouldn't all income be taxed the same? Income is income.

call me an eracist (i just made that up) but im thinking he meant darkies and more purple drank than country club and merlot.

and personally if i had checks rolling in doing nothing, id not care about the debt either.
