some people like to live out in the sticks. good for them. they cant be bothered to live near work. if these cats want to live way out, have a big backyard, a hunting lodge, fine. you are gonna spend less on housing and more on gas. so be it. if gas prices go up they can move. gas prices are not a "problem". they just are what they are. you make choices and dont ask anyone else to manage prices. you dont blame politicians or oil companies. you simply adapt.
everyone does adapt. if you are searching for this magical world where no one bitches and everyone just holds their head down and falls in line, i suggest you look elsewhere, maybe pakistan.
desperate and dirty lie. "I think the government could actually start giving away electric and solar power cars" lasalle. taking my tax money to buy your dumbass electric and solar cars so you can avoid buying gas is not how you adapt. its how your force your "me wanty" attitude down my ****ing throat.
You are remarkably uneducated on the subject, but that really isn't surprising. It's simply not that cut and dry. There is plenty of oil (extra heavy oil, natural bitumen, oil shale) that is not being tapped simply because the petroleum extraction technologies haven't been developed yet or it's too expensive to use or it would be too damaging to the surrounding areas. It's not economically recoverable. Even if the permits were issued and restrictions lifted one let's say ANWR, you're assuming that the oil companies would suddenly stop playing the market increasing the value of their product for profit. The real problem is the price of gas and drilling is not going to solve it when the oil companies still have the freedom to personally regulate the market. Of course you think that businesses should be allowed to make a profit however they see fit, leaving you no room to complain...
do you "personally regulate" the market for things you sell, like your labor? to maximize profit? that seems unfair to those purchasing from you. what if they want you to work for cheaper its just not fair. someone should step in and regulate you.
Again, Bull. There's 500 billion barrels of sweet crude under the Montana dirt and another 500 billion or so in ANWR.
I don't drive the hemi to work 40 miles I have a company truck but it's a v8. To haul our equipment and radioactive sources we must have a full size truck. I do think hybreds can make a diffrence.
What does that quote have to do with anything. I said it, I have adapted. I put more money away for gas each month. But as far as I can tell, and maybe I missed a meeting, but I think I am still allowed to bitch and moan on a message board. People do adapt. And I get it, you want your tax dollars to go to things like paying for tax cuts for the rich and corporations, and defense, I would like for my tax dollars to go towards infrastructure and taking care of Americans.
