Just another example of how remote Bush is from the citizens. He is insulated by a cloud of republican cronies and sycophants who tell him what he wants to hear. I'll judge the next president by how broadly-experienced and bi-partisan a posse he surrounds himself with.
You may get to do that Red should JM win it. It's hard to tell which way he is going at any point. He has ties to the conservatives but seems to hang out in the middle or even left of middle much to the shagrin of the hard line republicans. Should either of these other two idiots get elected I doubt you will get much of a good look at anything that resembles bi-partasian.
Politics is a tough game. Everyone is a wise-ass. I suppose it is worth fighting for what is right, but one can't lose sight of truer goals in the mean time.
Well, Mr. Adam Smith, first of all it was somewhat of a sarcastic post but that part you referenced does hold water. Why in the heck else do you think they're coming up with alternative means to power vehicles? Think about it, more hybrids, less fuel consumption; Less fuel consumption, less demand; less demand, lower prices. Do I get an "A"? I sure did when I took it in college.
the law of supply and demand isnt a secret. a fifth grader knows it as common sense. obviously wont flip the market but it will change it.
This discussion leads to a bigger can of worms: Should the US drill or not drill? I agree that we all should conserve, but maybe need some behavioral modifications. The problem is that Americans love to drive, and a lot of the cities are not designed for mass transit in this big country. I just wonder how much traffic jams waste energy (or gas). Investing in transportation with super efficiency, and alternate energy sources are probably necessary, but expensive. More nuclear plants? How can the US cut down on dependancy on foreign oil?
